Under Title IV of the Federal Coal Mine Health and Safety Act, the Black Lung Center Program offers:
- Services that minimize the effects of respiratory impairments in coal miners and others with occupational related respiratory disease
- Specific diagnostic and treatment procedures required in the management of problems associated with Black Lung disease, which improve the quality of life of clinic patients and reduce economic costs associated with morbidity arising from respiratory disease
- An array of services including outreach, screening and diagnosis, education, rehabilitation, treatment, and benefits counseling.
